Some of you may remember the groundbreaking He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated series that debuted back into the’80s. Good news for those of you: that beloved animated series’ new sequel, Masters of the Universe: Revelation, is coming to Netflix soon to shoot you down memory lane and build on into the drama of planet Eternia. And also the action-packed trailer–teasing just enough for you actually enthusiastic –has only been published.
Rumor has it that the new series picks up where the old one left off, continuing the story of what happens after the famed battle of He-Man and Skeletor at which Eternia is fractured and the posse of Castle Grayskull’s protectors are scattered.
After nearly 40 years, Skeletor is back and on a mission to take control of Castle Grayskull to find its hidden secrets–which made He-Man the most powerful man in the world. It seems like it is up to the Sorceress, Teela, to re-unite the band of heroes to fight against Skeletor and recover the missing Sword of Power to Avoid the end of the universe.
Created by fan-favorite filmmaker Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy), the series will comprise voice celebrities Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Chris Wood as Prince Adam/He-Man, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, and much more. It will also contain characters like Scare Glow and He-Ro in the first Mattel toys, that never looked in the animated series.
With 10 incidents total, the show is going to be divided to two components of five episodes each; the initial part is set to launch on Netflix on July 23.
