Microsoft’s first dual-screen Android smartphone has largely turned into a flop. Announced months ahead of its summer 2020 launch, the apparatus featured 2019 hardware in an otherwise pleasing layout. But add to that the subpar software expertise, the absence of an aggressive camera, and also the 1,399 price tag, and you may understand why reviewers weren’t happy with Microsoft’s efforts.
Microsoft has since cut on the first-gen Surface Duo’s cost substantially and even gave it an Xbox game streaming attribute. The device’s second display turns the handset into a rather formidable portable gaming device.
Microsoft isn’t done making smart phones and intends to launch a second-generation Surface Duo this season that will allegedly fix the oddest things about the very first version. The Surface Duo 2, a name which Microsoft hopefully averts, will launch in the second half of the year when this leak is accurate.
