Windows 10’s most current round of Patch Tuesday updates brings a minor upgrade to the desktop taskbar, as we reported in April. The News and Interests feature puts a curated news feed and neighborhood weather conditions onto your taskbar powered, by MSN and Microsoft News.

The News and Interests icon looks in Windows 10’s taskbar as an icon showing the weather, but put over the weather, and you are going to be treated to news headlines, sports scores, and traffic updates. Follow on the link on a news story and you will be taken to the complete article via Microsoft’s Edge browser.

It’s a wonderful feature if you would like to have at-a-glance weather on your taskbar, in addition to news updates only a click away. If you’d rather not possess News and Interests sitting there taking up space in your taskbar, nevertheless, getting rid of it easy.
